thankful for winning another giveaway on Instagram. I’ve been pretty lucky lately! I don’t enter a ton, but since it’s pretty easy to do, I enter the ones that really interest me.

reading finished Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy” by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant. Not sure if this book falls into the memoir or self-help category, but I did take a lot away from this book about resilience and would recommend it. (I’ll write more about it in my January book review.)

listening to the news and

wishing it would all make more sense to me.  [insert dramatic sigh and eyerolling here.]

so happy about an extended catch-up Whatsapp conversation with a dear friend back from my exchange semester days. We’ve been friends for 15 years!

eating leftover cherry crumble cake (it’s rainy and chilly here in Northern California and I felt like baking last weekend.) It goes so well with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

drinking tea. Still, and always. I’ve been really into lemon-ginger lately. It’s also really good when you have a cold, just FYI.

watching Season 11 of ‘The X-Files’. We were so excited when they announced another season. So far we’ve only watched the first episode, but I am intrigued… there are so many plot twists. Are you watching?

excited that I was finally able to start exercising again last week. It’s been a little tough to get back into my routine, but I sure missed being active. I just feel so much better all around when I work out, don’t you?

looking for printer recommendations. My hand-me-down printer is finally on its last leg and I am thinking about replacing it (without breaking the bank). I need a color printer that can print on card stock and envelopes. Any recommendations? Which printer do you have and are you happy with it?

I am also linking up again with Amanda from Running with Spoons for Thinking out Loud.

  1. I’m sure I’ve heard of that book – it sounded really good.
Getting back into a fitness routine after the holidays takes alot of effort!
I love tea all year round (currently drinking loads and it is summer) :)

    1. I love tea all year around, too, but especially in the winter (when I hardly drink anything else) ;)

  2. I’ve been meaning to read that book but just haven’t gotten to it yet. And do tell: What did you win on Instagram?!

    1. The book was really good and it’s a quick read.
(I won a $100 Visa gift card this time… so basically, cash! :))

  3. I don’t have any printer recommendations but I want to know what you decide on. Our printer sucks – no wireless capabilities and likes to refuse to print or scan on a regular basis.

    Your crumble cake looks amazing.

  4. I haven’t had a printer in years, but I really want to get one again because it’s tough to always have to go to the library, etc. to print something. I’m curious about Option B so I’m glad to hear you got some good things out of it!! Also, congrats on the giveaway win! That’s awesome.

    -Lauren

  5. Both that cake and the tea sound so delicious right now! And I have always had the worst luck with printers! I have no idea why, they just never seem to work long for me!

  6. I haven’t watched the latest season of The X-Files. I have an Epson printer and I love it. I haven’t tried to print on cardstock or envelopes, but I was told that it works well.

  7. I’ve been wanting to read Option B, so I can’t wait to see your post and learn more about what you thought. Also, yes to the news. Major eye rolls over here too.

  8. Mmmmm considering sharing the crumble recipe? It sounds delicious :-)

  9. I bought Option B this summer and have been meaning to read it, but other books have come up at the library so I read those instead. I want to get to it eventually, though!

That’s great that you’ve been able to get back to working out again. You were wise to wait until your body was healed and healthy again so you didn’t have a relapse! But I bet it feels great to get your sweat on again. I am looking forward to returning to working out once I get cleared by my OB after the baby is born!!

  10. I don’t know if I’m emotionally strong enough to read Option B. I read Lean In by her and she talked about her husband so beautifully, so my heart broke when I heard about his untimely death. I still get choked up when I think about it! Hopefully, one day in the future I can tackle it.

  11. Cherry crumble cake, whattt? That looks really yummy!

Sheryl Sandberg’s book looks very good, emotional I’m sure and very thought-provoking. I’ll have to put that on my list.

Let me know what you think of the X-Files coming back. I’ve contemplated watching it but haven’t yet.

    xo

  12. Three cheers for tea all day, every day.
