Blog Day 2009

Everybody comes across some new, interesting blogs every once in a while, correct? So today is the day for everyone to share those blogs with each other.
I don’t care if you share a blog that you’ve read for a long time or if you just recently stumbled upon something worthwhile – I want to know! So feel free to join in on the fun that is called  Blog Day 2009.

Here are the official rules:

1. Share 5 new Blogs that you find interesting
2. Notify the 5 bloggers that you are recommending them as part of BlogDay 2009
3. Write a short description of the Blogs and place a link to the recommended Blogs
4. Post the BlogDay Post (on August 31st) and
5. Add the BlogDay tag and a link to the BlogDay web site to your post

And without any further ado, here are the 5 blogs I want you to check out:

Yourwishcake–  Wishcake is a 20-something blogger from So-Cal (originally the Northwest)) with a beautiful way to talk about herself and her ambitions in life. She’s someone with a creative mind (and hands!) and has her own Etsy shop (which I recommend you visit after reading this and she’s hosting a give-away, too!). You’ll see that her blog is quite popular (with often 50+ comments per post), but maybe you’ll also find out why when you go and check it out.

Sizzle says – Sizzle is very funny and self-reflective. She doesn’t shy away from being honest and critical with herself and calls things what they are. Throughout all of her posts, she manages to maintain a fantastic kind of humor and positive outlook on life.

Highwaybynight – Kat is a (German) full-time college student at Maastricht University (yes, that’s in the Netherlands! I know.) with a big longing for Kentucky, where she spent a year in high school. You’ll be blown away by her writing ability. She’s always funny and entertaining, even if she – as she claims herself – doesn’t have anything interesting to say. Go and see for yourself that she continuously proves herself wrong.

Questionable Rationale– I found Terra’s blog on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I was surfing the web, clicking my way from blog to blog to blog. She lives in Virginia with her hubby and a dog. She was deployed to Kosovo for many months (I have yet to catch up on the whole story) and has just recently gone back to school.

EmmySuh– I got intrigued because EmmySuh was going to be a Nanny in Germany for a year. I was curious to see how she liked Germany and to hear about her adventures over there. Unfortunately, she cut her stay short and is back in beautiful Kentucky again, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have anything interesting to blog about. EmmySuh always finds something in everyday life that is worth a blog post! :)

Now, what blogs do you read and would like to recommend?

  1. Thanks for the shout out. *Blush

  2. Thanks for choosing me! I’m glad we’re getting to know each other and hope I can meet some more readers from your site as well.

  3. Thanks for including me in that list! I’m on way to check out the other bloggers you mentioned now!

  4. Very neat. Can’t do it this year, as I am up to my eyeballs in puppies! Next year though.

  5. I don’t have a blog myself to share other blogs through so I will just recommend a few blogs via comment.

    https://www.mattlogelin.com
a single father from LA blogging about every day life and all the struggles with his daughter. Her mom passed away because of a pulmonary embolism 27 hours after having her through a c-section. –> beautiful but be prepared to cry a lot – I did.

    https://afunnythinghappenedonthewayhome.blogspot.com
27 year old girl living in Boston with her (kinda adopted) younger sister. Has a very interesting life story and a great way to write.

    https://www.kopfschuettel.de
only for Germans to understand (as it is in German) – a guy writing about funny every day conversations (and the overall craziness of women) with his girlfriend. Hilarious!

I read a lot more blogs, mostly by people who immigrated to the US via Green Card, Marriage or by getting a Job. I love to read about other peoples lifes. That’s also the reason I came here, clicking through the blog list on a blog I came to from another blog… Glad I did because I like it here! :)

  6. I am going to do this! :) NICE!

  7. hi sweets. i dont have any blogs that I read that you dont know, except maybe romy’s?

  8. I forgot one:

    https://thisisthegreatadventure.blogspot.com
my friend Janet from Canada. I met her during my 3-months’ school exchange. She is a SAHM to a 3 year old daughter and a son who was born a few days ago. Nice, funny and a little crazy…

  9. Great idea but I can’t participate because I’m reading too many great blogs. I wouldn’t be able to pick the five best….but actually “theinbetweenismine” would be definitly on one of the first three positions ;)

  10. Thank you so much for this! :) It means a lot.

  11. wow. i can’t believe i missed blog day. it’s just been too crazy here… *sigh* will definitely check out your suggestios as soon as i have a minute though! xoxo
